Our conference aimed at providing a forum for discussion and presentation of both academic and industrial research involving theoretical and applied geometry and graphics as well as other related fields. This time the conference was also dedicated to the Dresden scientist E.W. v. Tschirnhaus (1656-1708).

It belonged to a series of conferences held biennially under the patronage of the International Society for Geometry and Graphics ( ISGG).

The 2008 conference of the German Society for Geometry and Graphics ( DGfGG) was part of the 13^th ICGG 2008 and on that occasion be held in English. The DGfGG is co-organizer of the conference.
